19.08. Spekulatius (a German spiced biscuit - special for Christmas)

The Sun is shining, 23 degrees celsius, the perfect time to have our first rehearsal for our Christmas concert on December 11th at Christuskirche London. And of course we are ahead of the time again. Neither is Lidl selling Spekulatius nor does Tesco have Christmas Pudding on the shelves. We rehearsed music by Bach and Mendelssohn. In our tea break we got visited by a journalist from the "German Link". They will do an article in their next issue and we are now very eager to see it.

10.08. A short holiday disruption

Our next rehearsal will be on August 19th at 7.30pm at Christuskirche London. Furthermore the "english" part of our website is online. If you are at a nice place right now, enjoy it and feel free to send us holiday greetings. Sorry I have to get back into the pool...

15.06. Addition

All the French singers are on their way back, we cleaned up and we even found the missing glasses. But now it is definitely time to thank our sponsors. Without such great events would just not be possible. We'd like to thank:

- the St. Paul's Trust for financial support
- the German YMCA for institutional funding
- michael grünert consulting for travel planning, process organisation, stage construction and sponsorship in kind
- Christine Fent for professional help in graphics and design
- the Backhaus in Ham and Richmond for the generous donation of bread and cheese
- the Otto Bock Healthcare PLC for covering postage and providing construction material
- the Christuskirche London for rehearsal & concert facilities

12.06. Over and done!

Full Time Result 1:1 - one concert in Paris, one concert in London - we definitely got the better draw of the evening!
The concert itself was better because all involved were mostly not as nervous as in Paris. Everybody knew what to expect and so we could enjoy the concert to the fullest. Particularly interesting for us was the interaction with the audience. After the concert we got some surprising comments from spectators. Some were surprised "how young the choir is". Others were just happy to listen to a "real German choir" and a couple would have "loved to jumped up and joined in with the singers".

01.06. Paris

We are back & Paris is just terrific! We got a very warm welcome and comfortably supplied. We had an eight-hour sight-seeing tour through the city. We passed secret corners, got fantastic views of the Eiffel Tower and were shown the inner courtyards of the Louvre. And all the stuff we ate and drunk - delicious!!! Oh well, we also did a concert. All spectators where delighted but also quite astonished. Apparently their expectation of a classical Brahms concert was quite other to the Liebeslieder texts and our performance style. With the good experience from last weekends concert we are now looking forward to our concert in London on June 12th at 7pm at Christchurch in Knightsbridge. If you do not come along we take it personally. Excuses like the world cup match between England & the USA will not count.

16.05. Excitement

You did not hear from us for a while? Absolutely right, and we are very sorry about that. The main reason is that we are just two weeks away from our first concert. Everybody is looking forward to the concerts and the excitement within the choir is very high. Unfortunately nothing exciting is happening right now. We just rehearse and rehearse and rehearse. We are preparing our trip to Paris and organising the accommodation for our French guest singers.
We are building a stage for our London concert so that all 60 singers can see the conductor and be seen by the hundreds of spectators, we're arranging an entertaining tour for our guest. Oh, well did I mention the rehearsing already?

09.04. Refreshed

As promised we did some spring cleaning of our webpage. We hope you like our improvements and the new design. We would like to hear your thoughts about it. Please get in contact with us and help us with further developments.
